Do I even want to know what the price on one of those would be at auction?

There’s room for people with legs, but probably not for people who have heads.

Apparently a Chevy dealership in Pennsylvania is responsible.

Wonder what they had to sacrifice to make that work. Fuel tank?

I have always been baffled by classic cars featuring seats without headrests. I mean, I know safety wasn’t exactly a priority in the old days, but did people just want broken necks?

Not just any dealer- THE dealer.

Don Yenko did it.

Considering they are called head rests most consider them comfort items for you to rest your head not restraint devices for when you have an accident

This wouldn't have gotten in the way of the fuel tank. You just couldn't option the big tank.

Probably quite a few dealers did this like adding the additional tail lights to have 3 on each side.

Being that it is a dealer option, the value could swing either way. I think it would mainly be determined on the location of the auction because if it's a local car then it might be a valuable option because it's in the area of where it was originally built. Now if it was outside of that area I think it would hurt the value and the collector who would buy it would have it removed and return the Corvette to as it was when it rolled of the assembly line

I would think for it to be really valuable, you would need the window sticker the specs the dealer installed option.

You would need the window sticker or any documentation that shows the option was added when the car was new, but once again the value depends on the dealer as well. Was it from Yenko Chevy or a no name local dealer?

And if you've got a back seat, it's not like you're going racing.

Nope, and in this particular case of the original picture your not even street racing because this vette has the old slosh box powerglide behind the 250hp 327.
